Pokopedia is an unofficial fan reference for Pokémon Pokopia. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc. or The Pokémon Company.

Trademarks

Pokémon, Pokopia, the Pokémon names, character designs and all related marks are trademarks of Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and GAME FREAK Inc. They are used here for identification and reference only.

Game text

Item and habitat descriptions on this site originate in the game itself, and that text belongs to its copyright holders, not to this site and not to the fan sites that catalogue it. It is reproduced here as reference material for players, in the same way fan encyclopedias have long done. Key art is press material published for editorial use.

Everything you can see on this site came out of the game, and all of it is the property of its owners. Pokémon Pokopia is published by Nintendo and developed by GAME FREAK with Koei Tecmo, and the Pokémon themselves belong to Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and GAME FREAK Inc. The item icons, the artwork, the clothing, the paint colours: none of it is ours, and we make no claim to any of it.

We use those images for one reason, which is to show you which thing an entry is talking about. A list of item names with no pictures is a worse reference and not much use to anyone mid-build. They appear small, they sit next to information about the game rather than in place of it, and nobody would look at them instead of playing. That is the basis on which we believe the use is fair, and it is the same footing fan encyclopedias have worked from for a very long time.

Where some of these came from

A number of the icons here, the outfits and hairstyles in particular, were pulled out of the game files by other fans first. We are genuinely grateful for that work. Getting assets out of a game and organising them is slow, unglamorous and mostly thankless, and plenty of what this site can show you exists because somebody else did it before us.

Doing that work does not make anyone the owner of what comes out of it. Extracting a file is careful effort rather than an act of authorship, so the icon at the end of it is still the rights holder’s image, exactly as it was inside the game. That cuts both ways and we mean it to: it is why we treat these as the publisher’s work under fair use rather than as anyone’s property to grant, and it is why we would not claim them ourselves either.

We host our own copies rather than linking to the sites we found them on, so nobody ends up paying for our traffic. If you extracted something here and would rather we did not use it, say so and we will take it down.

If you hold rights to anything on this site, whether you are the publisher or the fan who extracted a file, and you want it gone, get in touch. It comes down. No argument, no delay, and no hard feelings.
