Each area has its own plants, berries and hedges, and each comes in five colours and five berry types across the game as a whole.

Here is the catch: every save file is dealt the standard version plus one random berry and one random colour that grow natively for you. Seeds drop as you clear trees and ground, and a Pokémon with Grow speeds things along. A tree normally takes four days; flowers take one, or none at all with Grow.
