Bleak Beach in Pokopia

Bleak Beach is built over Vermilion City, and it has one problem you cannot miss: it is dark. Not dark at night, dark at every hour, whatever the clock says. Walking in from a sunlit area and losing the light is the whole introduction to the place.

The S.S. Anne is here too, still sitting off the coast. It is one of the more direct nods to the old Kanto map anywhere in the game, and it is worth poking around properly rather than treating the beach as a straight run of sand.

Lighting the area up is the goal, which makes the Pokémon whose specialty is Illuminate unusually valuable here, and makes the beach a good place to test what a specialty actually does to a piece of land.
