How do you make it rain in Withered Wastelands?

Rain is the area goal rather than a single switch. You raise the area by building and by drawing in Pokémon whose specialties affect water and weather, and the rain follows the environment level.

Withered Wastelands in Pokopia

The starting area, a dried-out stretch of grass and caves where rain stopped falling.

Withered Wastelands is where Pokopia begins. It sits on what used to be Fuchsia City, a run of grassland and coastline with caves cut into it, and the first thing you notice is how dry everything looks. No rain has reached this part of the map in a long time.

That gives you your first real job. Getting weather back over the Wastelands is what opens the rest of the area up, and it is also the tutorial for how Pokopia works in general: you attract Pokémon by building the places they like, and the Pokémon change the land.

Because it is the opening area, it carries a broad spread of basic materials rather than anything specialised. If a recipe calls for something plain, this is usually where you gather it.
